stuffed grape leaves

A recipe incredibly creative , tasty and healthy.It is made of grape leaves stuffed with rice and ground beef .




Ingredients

• 1/2 kg of grape leaves .
• 1/2 kg of rice.
• 1/2 kg of ground beef .
• 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
• 1/2 cup of olive oil
• 1 teaspoon of pepper (to taste )

Preparation

  Wash the rice well , then mix with the ground beef , salt and pepper in a bowl . (Stuffing ,filling)

Prepare the grape leaves

1.If using preserved grape leaves. Rinse several times with cold water to get rid of any preservatives .
2.If using freshly picked leaves , make sure to pick the fluffy leaves (medium size ) . Rinse thoroughly ,    then cook with water on low heat for about 40 minutes .
3.When the leaves are ready , cut their stems and separates them on board .

How to roll grape leaves

1.Place leaves on a cutting board with the rough side facing up .
2.Add ¾ teaspoon of filling towards the bottom of the leaf.
3.Roll the leaf over the filling , ⅓ of the leaf.
4.Fold the left and right side of the leaf.
5.Then wrap all the way to the end of the leaf. ( Result equal cigar ).
7.Put the leaves one by one in the bottom of a pot .

Cooking

1.Add ½ cup olive oil and water
2.The water should cover the leaves.
3.Add plate on the top and press it down.It creates a pressure on grape leaves to keep them firmly united .
4.Close the pan and cook for a few minutes over high temperature until the sauce boil , then lower the heat and simmer for about 30 minutes. or until all the water evaporates .
5.Then uncover the pan and let it for about 1 hour to cool .
6.Now , ready to serve .
