Braised Cabbage



If you are a fan of cabbage leaves, you should try this recipe, steamed cabbage.

 Ingredients:
  • 1 head of cabbage.
  • 1/2kg of chopped beef.
  • 1/2kg rice washed.
  • 1 head of garlic, peeled and chopped.
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2cup of olive oil
  • Salt to taste.
Preparation:
  1. Peel and discard the outer leaves of cabbage.
  2. Separate the leaves with a knife leaf by leaf.
  3. Wash the leaves with cold water.
  4. Chop the leaves (2x1) cm.of size.
  5. In a saucepan mix together the chopped leaves with chopped beef, rice, chopped garlic, salt and pepper.
  6. Then add olive oil and water until cover the ingredients.
  7. Cover the pan and cook on high temperature for about 5-10 minutes, until boil, then lower the heat for 30-40 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with a side of yogurt and a squeeze of lemon juice(optional)
