chicory with Onion

Chicory with Onion:  vegetarian dish. popularly known in the Middle East.
can prepare in 30 minutes.




Ingredients:

  • 1 Pack of chicory.
  • 2 large onions.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (to taste)   

Preparation:

  1. Rinse chicory with cold water .
  2. Cut the leaves (3-4) cm.of size.
  3. Put in a saucepan, add water and salt, cook on medium heat for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Then put the leaves in a sieve to remove water, squeeze with your hands to remove all water. 
  5. Mince onions (1-2) cm. size, and fry with a little vegetable oil until slightly yellow stand.
  6. Then add the cooked chicory and mix with the onions over medium heat for 5 minutes.
  7. Place on plate and serve hot or cold.
