Kafta with potatoes

Kafta with Potatoes: traditional lebanese dish, made with ground beef, parsley, onion, potatoes and tomatoes


Ingredients:

  • 1 kg of ground red meat.
  • 1bunch of parsley.
  • 2Onions.
  • 5potatoes.
  • 5 tomatoes.
  • 1teaspoon cinnamon powder.
  • 1/2teaspoon salt (to taste).

Preparation:

  1. Wash parsley with cold water, let it dry, then chop finely.
  2. Peel the onions and chop finely.
  3. Place the ground beef in a bowl, add the chopped parsley, chopped onions, cinnamon and salt, then mix well with your hands.
  4. Take little of the mixture press with your hands to stay equal a disk (circle), put the discs of kafta on a baking tray, one beside the other.
  5. Then wash the potatoes, peel and cut into circular shape and place in the tray over kafta.
  6. Wash the tomatoes, cut finely and place over the potatoes.
  7. Add 4 cups of water and salt (to taste), place the tray in the oven at medium temperature for 45minutes or until the potatoes cooked.
  8. Serve hot with rice on the side.
